The Flying Seagull Project Launches the Laugh N Play UK Tour

The Flying Seagull Project has launched the Laugh N Play UK tour – a series of live circus shows and/or workshops across the whole of the UK for the rest of 2020 and extending into 2021. The shows are designed to acknowledge the limitations we have in the world without allowing these to restrict our imaginations. The themes of the show explore travel, experimentation, meeting new people, solving problems and staying positive.

The project aims to connect and collaborate with both grassroots and larger organisations who are providing support and activities for vulnerable people and disadvantaged communities by working together to offer safe socially distanced free shows that children and their families can experience together. The Flying Seagulls are really keen to hear from anyone who feels this show would be appropriate for and appreciated by the communities they support, and we’re very happy to run as many shows or workshops as needed to ensure everyone can access them. Get in contact with us and we’ll come wherever you are, whenever you’re free and give everyone a good giggle!

The new Laugh N Play UK show features all the fun and silliness the Seagulls are famous for – stories, music, magic and clowning. It has been specially devised with Covid-19 safety in mind, delivering a shared live experience which feels as close to normal as possible. We sanitise and set up a socially distanced, safe show space, using props to provide social distancing for the audience. The interactive show lasts around one hour and will include a mix of storytelling, magic, circus, clowning and music, always delivered with full social distancing and sanitisation measures in place. People will be encouraged to participate, with feedback gathered from partners and beneficiaries.

Isobel Wolff (clown name Wolfy), Project Leader at The Flying Seagull Project, said: “It is high time that kids who have been stuck inside for months can finally come together in a safe way to share a much-needed bellyful of laughter. We can’t wait to get back out there and do what we do best, spreading smiles face-to-face. Our visits are completely free for eligible groups, from youth clubs to refugee centres and hospitals. All they need is an outdoor or well-ventilated indoor space.”
