A warm welcome to Honor Wilson-Fletcher MBE, YCF's Interim CEO
A warm welcome to Honor Wilson-Fletcher MBE, YCF's Interim CEO
Introducing Honor
Honor brings a genuinely remarkable breadth of experience to YCF. She started her first business whilst still at college, spent a happy career in bookselling and publishing, holding manager and director-level roles at Penguin Books, Waterstone's and BOL.com. She then made the move into the not-for-profit world, drawn by a particular interest in widening access and improving life chances for young people.
Since then, she has delivered major change programmes as a Director at the British Museum, Southbank Centre and the National Literacy Trust. She served as CEO for six years at the Aldridge Foundation, where she helped establish 12 state schools in some of England's most deprived communities, before leading the youth development organisation, British Exploring Society, from 2016 with a modernising brief. She has been a charitable trustee since her twenties, with organisations including the Arts Council, Edinburgh Book Fair and social business Catch-22, and currently serves as trustee with the Association for Character Education, the Ulysses Trust and the Sea Cadets.
That's a lot of ground covered, and all of it oriented towards the same thing: creating better opportunities for young people.
Honor shares:
"It's a privilege — and I am properly excited — to be given this chance to serve young people in Camden. I have already had the good fortune to steward organisations where multiple voices have contributed hugely to culture and effectiveness. So I know how lucky I am to be learning from Daisy, from her team, a great team of trustees, Young Ambassadors, and from the Member organisations who understand best how to make growing up in Camden as positive as possible. Thank you in advance for all your help. I have many, many questions!"
A word from our Chair
Martin Pratt CBE, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said:
"The trustees are delighted to have appointed someone of Honor's calibre and experience to ensure that the Young Camden Foundation continues to flourish and deliver for our members and Camden's children and young people during Daisy's maternity leave. I'm really looking forward to working with Honor over the next year or so and know that YCF will continue to go from strength to strength under her stewardship. Very best wishes to both Daisy and Honor as they embark on their exciting years ahead."
From Daisy
And from Daisy herself:
"I am delighted that Honor joins YCF to lead our charity in this next year. 2026/27 will be an important year for Young Camden Foundation in so many ways, marking 10 years of service to Camden's children and youth voluntary sector. Honor brings the expertise, experience, insight and passion needed to steward and develop our important work, all for the benefit of Camden's children and young people. Thank you also to our wonderful team, our incredible members and YCF’s Board of Trustees for supporting this important handover process, and living our values in action."
What comes next
Honor joins at a significant moment for YCF. As Daisy noted, 2026/27 marks ten years of Young Camden Foundation serving Camden's children and young people, a milestone we're looking forward to marking together.
If you're a member organisation, a partner, or someone who works alongside us, Honor would love to hear from you. She comes with many questions and an open door.
Please join us in welcoming Honor to the YCF family, and in wishing Daisy the very best for everything ahead.
