London Sport

Our history In 2014, London’s Blueprint for a Physically Active City was launched by a group for organisations who strive for a thriving London. With the support of Sport England, London Councils and the Mayor of London, London Sport was created to help physical activity and sport to work better in London. It was then, that we set the vision for London to become the world’s most physically active city. While a new organisation, London Sport’s foundations were set by the five former Pro-Actives for Sport in London. Forming one organisation for physical activity and sport in London created strategic efficiencies, a stronger voice and more investment into grassroots sport, with over £2,000,000 redistributed during 2015 and 2016 alone. Working in partnership with the physical activity and sport sector Our strength is working with others and we believe working in partnership with others is the only way we can make real progress in getting Londoners more active. Our partners are wide-ranging, from community organisations through to local authorities in London and with our local relationship approach across all the 33 London Boroughs, we know we are the experts in physical activity and sport in London. Our partnership approach means we are always trying to find ways of improving our work with partners, to not only deliver a better quality of service to these partners but to also keep up to date with what support our partners need from us now and in future. Every year we ask a range of partners about the service we have provided to them and we are proud of the results. In 2017 we asked over 100 partners and here’s what they said about us. 88% of partners are satisfied* with the value 93% of partners are satisfied* with the quality *Our partners rated us as either satisfied or very satisfied with the value we add and the quality of support and advice given.
