Cash for Kids - Cost of Living Grants

Background

Bauer Media operate radio and magazine brands in the UK and worldwide, and Cash for Kids is their UK charity. The charity helps children and young people (up to 18 years old) affected by poverty, neglect or those living with additional needs.

The new Cost of Living Grant scheme supports charities and professionals to provide support to families most in need in their area.

Objectives of Fund

The aim of the new Cost of Living Grant is to provide emergency essentials to support the physical and mental wellbeing of disadvantaged children in the UK.

Value Notes

A total fund of £1 million is available.

Grants are for £50 per child per household.

Match Funding Restrictions

Match funding is not required.

Who Can Apply

Professionals within a governing body (e.g. social services, GP, teacher, charity, community group etc.) are eligible to apply on behalf of families in need.

Registered charities or community organisations must have a formal constitution or governance document and safeguarding policy.

Families cannot apply directly to the Fund.

The beneficiaries must not have been referred to the Cost-of-Living Fund by any other organisation other than the applicant.

Eligible Expenditure

Costs such as food, clothing (including school uniform) and household energy are supported by the grant but any other item or cost is considered if children's most basic needs are to be met.

Items such as household fuel vouchers, food parcels, food vouchers, toiletries, clothing and wellbeing packs should be provided from the grant.

How To Apply

Applications are accepted but the scheme will close when funds are depleted.

As submissions are accepted according to area of residence, applicants are advised to check the Cash for Kids website to confirm funds are available in their area.
