Central Social and Recreational Trust
Background
The Trust was established in June 1962. Its purpose, as defined in the Trust Deed, is “providing or assisting in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare.”
Objectives of Fund
The funding aims to enable disadvantaged children under the age of 21 to access facilities for recreational or other leisure time occupations.
Value Notes
Grants will generally be no more than £1,500 although the Trustees will consider applications above this figure in exceptional circumstances.
Match Funding Restrictions
Applicants must state what they have done to fulfil the need from other sources.
Who Can Apply
Sports clubs and organisations that are affiliated to their governing body, ie Amateur Boxing Association of England, National Association of Clubs for Young People, Football Association, are eligible to apply.

Funding is not available for individuals or individual items, such as personal items of kit.
Eligible Expenditure
Funding is available for the following:
- Equipment for the use of all members of the club.
- Maintenance of properties, as long as the property is owned by the club or there is a significant lease period.
All young people who are to benefit must be under 21 years of age. The Trustees will consider applications where the large majority are under 21 years. The Trustees will also consider the economic and social circumstances surrounding the beneficiaries of the grant.
