Help the Homeless
Background
Help the Homeless is a small charitable trust that provides grants to charities throughout the UK working wholly or mostly with homeless people. The trust has limited funds and focuses its support on capital projects.
Objectives of Fund
The trust aims to support small charities that work to help homeless people, by funding capital projects that improve their facilities or capacity.
Value Notes
Small grants of up to £5,000 are available. The trust does not consider multi-year requests.
Who Can Apply
Your organisation must:
- Be registered with the Charity Commission in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland, or be a registered Scottish Charity.
- Have an annual turnover of less than £500,000.
- Work wholly or mostly with homeless people.
Location
United Kingdom.
Restrictions
The trust is unable to accept applications towards:
- Running costs, core costs, or salaries.
- General community work or foodbanks.
- Projects that are not focused on homelessness.
- Computers and IT equipment.
- Multi-year funding.
There must be a minimum period of two years between the receipt of a decision or grant and making a further application.
Eligible Expenditure
Funding is exclusively for capital projects that directly support the charity's work with homeless people.

All applicants must complete the online application form on the Help the Homeless website. Applications by post or email are no longer accepted.
Quarterly deadlines: 5pm on 20 March / 20 June / 20 September / 20 December.

Applicants will be informed of the Trustees' decision within eight weeks of each deadline. Examples of recent grants can be found on the website.
