Theatres Trust - Theatre Improvement Scheme (with the Wolfson Foundation)

Background

The Theatres Trust's Theatre Improvement Scheme, in association with the Wolfson Foundation, has been running since 2017. In that time, grants totalling more than £1,090,000 have been awarded to 66 projects. The Wolfson Foundation renewed its support in 2024, with a further £510,000 to be awarded over three years. The current theme is Improving Environmental Sustainability, reflecting an urgent priority for the sector.

Objectives of Fund

The scheme aims to fund projects that demonstrate how a small capital intervention can have a big impact on a theatre's environmental sustainability. Examples include sedum roofs, new windows, building management systems, and more efficient water heaters.

Value Notes

Capital grants of up to £20,000 are available.
