About Organisation

Part of Camden Council, the Camden Music Service works closely with all our maintained schools, supporting school-based music and offering instrumental and vocal lessons. We also run music activities for children and young people at weekends and in the school holidays, and join with professional arts organisations for special projects both in and out of school. We aim to make our offer as widely accessible as possible, supporting with subsidies and bursaries where we can. The Camden Music Trust www.camdenmusictrust.org raises funds to help us do this. CMS also leads the Camden Music Hub – a body funded through the Arts Council of England, linking up music making organisations offering opportunities for young people in the borough. Music is a social activity. We organise opportunities for musical sharing – from really small-scale Cluster Festivals up to our biennial Camden Schools’ Music Festival, involving all the borough’s schools, at the Royal Albert Hall.
