About Organisation

Sobriety Films UK is a grassroots collective of filmmakers and creatives who produce films, run recovery filmmaking workshops and hold screenings with Q&A’s to champion recovery from addiction, mental ill-health and trauma. Our crew and contributors have lived experienced of the issues we address. Sobriety Films embraces diversity and difference, including those with disabilities and those who identify as neurodiverse. We aim to make programming of outstanding quality, which is entertaining and meaningful to commercial and niche, diverse audiences. We make films that encourage debate and raise awareness about the societal and community issues that occur around the UK. Our focus is the hidden agenda and unheard stories of individuals and their experiences. With truth and integrity, we endeavour to shine a light on the invisible people who strive for wholeness and well-being. We champion participation and inclusion in all aspects of our filmmaking and support the development and empowerment of creatives in recovery from addiction, mental ill-health and trauma. All profit raised by Sobriety Films is reinvested into the company and our social remit so we can continue making films and carrying out activities that promote and support recovery in all its forms.
