About Organisation

The Futsal Stars Foundation was founded by Dr Miriam Bouchiba, a NHS healthcare professional, in response to witnessing the effects of the pandemic and lockdown on many young people who faced prolonged periods of isolation and loneliness. The Foundation supports the mental and physical well-being of young people through the provision of futsal and football after-school and holiday camps. Projects to date have included sponsoring 20 children to participate in the 11-week 3-a-side Camden and Islington Youth Futsal League and a summer holiday camp, which sponsored 42 children. Our target groups are young people from disadvantaged backgrounds that include those in receipt of free school meals, parents are from low income backgrounds, child refugees, children from the BAME community and those with disabilities such as autism. Our lead coordinator grew up in Camden and many members of our team have lived experience of the issues facing young people today and are therefore extremely passionate about using sports engagement to tackle widespread social issues such as knife crime and gang culture in our communities. We have a sustainable model and are working hard to have a long-term impact in our communities. The Futsal Stars Foundation. Charity number 1194598
