About Organisation

The Lighthouse is a welcoming, vibrant, modern Christian church for the 21st Century and is part of the Church of England


Aim
“To be a beacon of light for NW London and beyond; revealing the full gospel of Jesus' love and power to heal and transform”

Objectives
Children’s work 4-11
• Growing in understanding of and love for their Christian faith
• Growing in love for and appreciation of God’s world
• Transformed family life and relationships
• Belonging to the whole church family

Youth work 11-18
• Feeling church is a safe space to grow as young leaders
• Growth in confidence and in developing new skills
• Owning their faith for themselves
• Spiritual growth and deeper connection with the spiritual community of the church

Children’s and youth groups and activities, Sundays and mid-week, trips out and weekends away

Torch social group for young people who have completed the Spear course (below)
• Improved physical and mental health, and social and life skills, that enable a successful and sustained move into employment

Partnerships
Spear Camden (Charity No: 1156643) Spear is a twelve-month programme beginning with an intensive six-week foundation phase aimed at getting vulnerable young people aged 16-25 ready for work.

XLP (Charity No: 1101095) XLP is about creating positive futures for young people growing up on inner-city estates, struggling daily with issues such as family breakdown, unemployment and educational failure, and living in areas that experience high levels of anti-social behaviour and gang violence. XLP runs a mobile youth centre bus project, street based outreach and schools based young people’s mentoring and other activities for young people.
