Sidings Digital Youth Project - Monday & Wednesday Youth Club
About Project
Our digital programme will focus on issues affecting young people and include activities to develop digital, online and social media skills to build confidence and self-esteem. These activities will have outcomes which will positively impact on the young people and extend their personal skills portfolio to improve life and career opportunities. The positive outcomes will lead to greater empowerment and community engagement amongst young people, and increase social inclusion by ensuring creative opportunities for everyone.
We will encourage young people to explore and look after their mental health and wellbeing while engaging and participating in a digital society. As many of our young people are affected by poverty, not all of them have access to computers at home and mainly access the internet via smartphones. By providing young people with laptops and tablets at the centre they are enable to explore and share digital experiences in a safe, socially distanced, environment.
Laptops and tablets available to use during our open youth club sessions for personal and educational use, and as part of exciting digital projects. Also available to use at other times at other times, in agreement with our youth worker. Youth club seesions take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 8pm and include a mix of activities such as sports, games, arts, crafts, music, cooking and informal learning projects.
