Supplementary Education Network

What is the Supplementary Education Network?

The Supplementary Education Network is a group of organisations working in partnership who are dedicated to assisting Camden's Supplementary Schools and provisions.

Young Camden Foundation's Supplementary Education Network Coordinator works closely with Susan Morris, Camden Learning's Supplementary Education Officer, to provide a variety of support measures, including information, advice, and access to resources.

Since 2019, YCF has managed the Supplementary Education Fund, in partnership with John Lyons Charity. The funding pot totals £25,000 each year - with almost £100,000 distributed to YCF members so far.

The focus of the programme is to:

Strengthen
the capacity of supplementary education institutions in Camden.
Build
and maintain a network of supplementary education schools.
Manage
the Supplementary Education Fund, encouraging schools to apply, providing application support.
Identify
external resources and funding opportunities for supplementary Education Provisions.

3. Open-access youth providers: Involving centre-based and detached youth work.

4. Tuition companies and tutors: Supporting mainstream or home education.

5. Language schools: Catering to children from abroad.

This comprehensive program helped 9 Camden Supplementary Schools to establish robust safeguarding, financial, and operational procedures, leading to enhanced service delivery and impact. By engaging in the Quality Mark process, these organisations can self-assess, develop, and ultimately demonstrate their commitment to high standards, thereby building trust and credibility with funders, partners, and the communities they serve.
