COVID-19 Vaccination (Administrative)
As a Vaccination (Administrative) Support working in immunisations, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of the COVID-19 vaccinations. The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative support within a team of staff working in a mass vaccination site. In particular, the post holder will be responsible for: • Accessing and maintaining accurate patient records, adhering to confidentiality as per the site’s policy. • Providing admin support on the vaccination activity by supporting the immuniser with vaccination delivery and vaccination records. • Recording vaccination consent and marking completion. • Ensuring infection and waste control at the vaccination station. |
1.Introduction to Mass Vaccination Recruitment
In response to the Covid 19 Pandemic and the licensing of a vaccine the NHS is setting up mass vaccination centres in each borough.

2. The Jobs
The centres will be managed and run by clinically qualified staff. However, there are a number of roles that can be filled without prior medical training. These are:
- Front of House reception
- Administrator
- Vaccinator
To apply for these roles you must have evidence of the right to live and work in the UK. If your application is successful you will also have a DBS (D -B- S-) check which advises the employer if you have a criminal record which would prevent you undertaking these roles. The front or house and administrator role only require a standard DBS check. The vaccinator role requires an enhanced DBS check. You employment history for the last three years will also be confirmed.
Paid training (at the rates below) will be offered after you have successfully applied for the role. You will be asked to complete a training package on-line. If you have applied for the vaccinator role you will be asked to undertake some face to face training as well as on-line training. You will need to successfully complete the training before being given a job .
The roles are expected to start in January and February and last until late Spring. When the roles come to an end staff will be considered for other roles in the NHS where there is a suitable role available.
The hourly pay rates are shown below.
The mass vaccination centres will be open 12 hours per day 8am to 8 pm 7 days per week. There are likely to be two shift patterns; a three 12 hours shifts or five 8 hours shifts.
In line with the NHS policy on vaccinating front line staff, staff working in the mass vaccination centres will be vaccinated during the course of the vaccine roll out process. They will also be expected to wear personal protective clothing.
