Volunteer Opportunity: HeadsUp Youth Support (Ages 18-25)
Location: Harrow (Residents or Students)
Commitment: 2 hours per week
Overview:
We are looking for passionate volunteers aged 18-25 to support the design and delivery of mental health awareness workshops in schools and youth settings. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with lived experience (direct or indirect) or a strong interest in supporting the mental wellbeing of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and delivery of mental health awareness workshops for young people.
- Promote Mind in Harrow and HeadsUp services to potential users and other stakeholders as directed by the project coordinator.
- Undertake administrative tasks in line with Mind in Harrow’s policies and procedures, as directed by the project coordinator.
- Attend supervision, training, and other relevant meetings as required.
Skills and Experience Gained:
- Communications and organisational skills.
- Insight into health and care careers, with a specific focus on mental health and wellbeing.
- Experience in promoting services and engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the mental health challenges faced by young people.
Person Specification:
- Aged 18-25 and either a resident or student in Harrow.
- Lived experience (direct or indirect) or a keen interest in mental health and supporting community wellbeing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and comply with Mind in Harrow’s policies and procedures.
