What is this policy for?
It sets out how we (Young Camden Foundation) collect, use and store your data/personal information to keep your information safe, and to comply with Data Protection Regulation. (Sometimes called ‘GDPR’). Personal Information is any data that can identify a living person, either on its own, or when combined with other details.

You should read this carefully. When you use our services, our website, or provide us information, you are agreeing to the terms of this policy.
If you are under 18, you’ll need to obtain your parent/guardian’s permission whenever you provide us personal information. Users without this consent are not allowed to provide us with personal information.

Who we are
Young Camden Foundation was founded in 2017. We are a registered charity. We have a charity number - 1172314. Our mission is to provide support – including grants - to charities and voluntary organisations working with children and young people.
Basis for processing
This means that to comply with regulation there must be a legal reason for the collection and storage of data. In our case, we may process data to comply with the following articles in Data Regulation legislation:
- Article 6a Consent
- Article 6b Contractual necessity
- Article 6f Legitimate interests
- Article 9g Substantial public Interest (this is when we handle what is called special category data like safeguarding information)
When and how do we collect information?
- When a young person, a parent/carer or a professional creates an online account with us
- When you send us an enquiry or express a concern
- When you send us a membership form
- When you send us a job application
- When you apply for a grant
- When you submit a report to us
- When you attend an event
- When you submit an enquiry for a service or project listed on our website.
What information do we collect?
We collect and store only the data necessary to undertake the task or service you are connecting with safely, and to fulfil our obligations in law.
This may include (this is not an exhaustive list):
- Your name
- your email
- your telephone number
- your address
- your organisation details
- information on your participation in the work we do.
How we use your information
We use it to;
- Respond to your query or concern
- To sign you up to a newsletter, service or as a member
- To manage grants, events and partnerships
- To provide relevant updates about services
- To process job, trustee and other applications
Who we share your information with
We may share your details with trusted processors subject to a strict data processing agreement.
We would never share your details with another individual or organisation without your specific consent (e.g. when you request to connect with another organisation).
We keep your details safely. We don’t sell or share your information with any other organisation beyond what is stated above.
We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights, property or personal safety of partners, our websites or our visitors and for other lawful purposes.
How we keep your information safe
We ensure that appropriate physical, technical and human controls are in place to take good care of your information including the use of multi-factor authentication, and established and reliable data storage platforms. We ensure that additional controls are in place for financial, sensitive and special categories of data, meeting regulatory and legal requirements for managing these types of information. Those staff who have access to your personal data understand the importance of keeping your information safe and secure at all times.
How long we keep your information
We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, and to meet any legal or regulatory requirement. This is so that we can provide the services, products or information you have requested, to administer your relationship with us, to ensure we don’t communicate with you if you’ve asked us not to and to comply with the law.

You have the right to lodge a complaint about the way we manage your data with the Information Commissioner's Office.
