Young Camden Foundation's Young Ambassador Programme

Young Camden Foundation's Young Ambassador Programme
In October, our ambassadors went to visit the newly refurbished Camden Town Hall and the Mayor's Chambers. We heard from the Mayor of Camden Cllr Nazma Rahman about her career so far, and we also heard from Cllr Sabrina Francis, Labour's Cabinet Member for Young People and Culture. Our ambassadors had the chance to learn about how local councils function and to find out what the key challenges in Camden currently are.
We have had 2 engaging and thought-provoking sessions hosted by one of our members, 2-3 Degrees. The first one looked at advocacy and action, focusing on how to gain confidence using your voice. The second session covered maximising your opportunities; looking at how to spot opportunities around you and embrace these.
Dr Martens also led a session on working within Social Media. For this, we were invited to their offices in Camden, and heard from those who work within the Digital Marketing team. Our ambassadors then had the chance to create their own Tik-Toks to advertise a pair of Dr Marten boots!
One of our more creative sessions was spearheaded by Joshua from Skindeep Education, who led an exciting session on the intersection of race and art. Our ambassadors were encouraged to reflect on their identity, and each person took home a zine they had designed.
Finally, Arup spent time with our ambassadors to give them tailored CV advice, extending to interview skills and preparation too. We have one more workshop left on Public Speaking, and we can't wait to celebrate our ambassadors achievements after this!
