Accelerate Progamme for Young People

Open City is recruiting for the 2020/21 Accelerate into University programme, a free out of school learning opportunity for ages 16 to 18, in years 12 and 13, interested in a career in architecture and the built environment industries. The deadline to apply is Friday 30 October.

Accelerate is a pioneering education and mentoring programme aimed at increasing diversity in the built environment profession. It gives students the confidence and skills needed to pursue a career in architecture and other related industries. Through a seven-month programme participants will attend skills development workshops and have the opportunity to have 1 to 1 mentoring with a built environment mentor practice. The programme finishes with an exhibition at a London location. Check out our Accelerate video to find out more.

They are looking to recruit (4) 16 to 18-year olds, in years 12 and 13, who live in Camden, attend a state school and are from under-represented communities. Those interested will need to complete an online application form demonstrating how they meet the criteria and have the support of a teacher or youth worker. Places are limited and in demand. The deadline is Friday 30 October. For any further information or questions about the programme please email Stephanie Tyler, Schools and Young People’s Manager, at accelerate@open-city.org.uk.
